Hospice Care in Seaside
Hospice is specialized support for people with a terminal illness who want comfort, reliable symptom relief, and time with family. Our clinicians provide medications, equipment, supplies, and 24-hour coverage to keep care steady and stress low.
Community Services
We also support families with bereavement resources and volunteer programs such as companionship, music and pet visits, and veteran-to-veteran support. These services extend care beyond the bedside and strengthen community ties.
Who qualifies & how to start
Every situation is unique, so we make getting started simple. Call our team to talk through needs, request an evaluation, and align services to your goals. Care is available in Seaside and throughout Monterey County.
- Hospice: Hospice is for people whose physician certifies a life expectancy of six months or less and who prefer comfort-focused care. Start by calling us to schedule an informational visit. We will listen, explain options, confirm eligibility with your doctor, and provide 24/7 nurse support once enrolled.
- Home Health: Home health is for people who need intermittent skilled care at home and are considered homebound, meaning it takes considerable effort to leave home. A doctor’s order is required, but you can call us first, and we will help coordinate with your physician. You can also ask for VNA by name or request a VNA Nurse Care Coordinator while in the hospital or a facility.
Insurance, costs & Medicare basics
We work with you to confirm coverage before care begins and explain any expected out-of-pocket costs. Our team helps with paperwork so you can focus on health and family.
- Hospice: Covered by Medicare Part A, Medi-Cal, and most private plans, including the hospice team’s services plus medications for symptom control, needed medical equipment like a hospital bed, and supplies related to the hospice diagnosis.
- Home Health: Accepted plans include Medicare, Medi-Cal, Central California Alliance for Health, Blue Shield, and many other private plans. Before your first visit, we confirm eligibility, coordinate with your physician, and review any copays.

VNA Stories
I need in home PT and was referred to VNA. Annette is an angel! I had already called 4 places to try to schedule something and between my doctor not providing full paperwork and my location being outside most covered zones, I was feeling frustrated and hopeless that I’d never get help. When I called VNA, Annette took over and while they didn’t have an opening for weeks, she called around and found a place that could take me immediately and even forwarded my doctor’s orders to them. I couldn’t believe anyone would do that for me- just so generous and thoughtful. Thanks to Annette, my stress levels went way down so I can focus on healing. This is a company that really cares about their patients and will go the extra mile! – Karen W.
