The Spiritual Care Counselor leads and delivers a comprehensive Spiritual Care Program for hospice home care patients and families. This role provides compassionate, individualized spiritual support, collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary care team (IDT), and works in partnership with patients’ faith leaders when requested. The Counselor also serves as a resource for ethical reflection, community education, and the development of volunteer chaplaincy services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families facing serious illness, death, and bereavement
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic, patient-centered care
  • Coordinate spiritual care with patient's pastors, clergy, or faith leaders as appropriate
  • Offer guidance and recommendations related to ethical questions and care decisions

Hourly Salary Range: $32.72 - $35.50

Status: Full-Time

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent graduate-level education in pastoral care or a related field

HOME HEALTH

The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive orientation, training, and professional development programs for clinical, clerical, and management staff within the Home Health department. This role ensures staff competency, regulatory compliance, and supports quality improvement initiatives across the agency. The educator collaborates closely with leadership to identify training needs, support new hires, and promote best practices in care delivery.

The RN Case Manager works collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to assess, plan, coordinate, and deliver skilled home health care to patients and their families. This role focuses on providing supportive, patient-centered care that promotes comfort, safety, and quality of life. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to manage patient care, coordinates services with internal and external providers, and ensures compliance with payer guidelines. The RN Case Manager also prepares patients and caregivers for discharge when appropriate and connects them with community resources to support continuity of care.

Hourly Salary Range: $60.92 - $66.08

Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday w/ rotating weekends

Under a physician-approved plan of care, the Physical Therapist assists patients in achieving their maximum functional potential through the application of physical therapy principles and practices. The role includes providing consultation to interdisciplinary healthcare team members, as well as educating and collaborating with patients’ families and caregivers. The Physical Therapist also evaluates the patient’s home environment and makes appropriate recommendations to support safety and independence.

Hourly Salary Range: $65.16 - $70.68

ADMINISTRATION

This internship provides practical, behind-the-scenes experience in nonprofit fundraising operations. You’ll play a vital role supporting appeal mailings, donor database management, corporate outreach, and event logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit management, development, or healthcare administration who wants to understand how a fundraising operation runs from the ground up.

Compensation: Unpaid internship; academic credit may be arranged

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week; flexible scheduling

Location: Monterey (primarily in-person)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare direct mail appeals including letter assembly, envelope stuffing, labeling, and postal sorting
  • Assist with mass mailing campaigns and donor acknowledgment letters
  • Research and source contact information (emails, key contacts) for corporate partnership prospects
  • Update and maintain donor records in Bloomerang (donor management system), including gift entry, contact updates, and data hygiene
  • Run donor reports and generate mailing lists for segmented campaigns and appeals
  • Support event logistics for fundraising events such as the Caregiver Wellness Summit, Estate Planning Evening, and Innovation Gala
  • Assist with prospect research and donor cultivation tracking
  • Help organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems for the development office

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, public health, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with detail-oriented, repetitive tasks
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and willingness to learn Bloomerang or similar CRM/database tools
  • Ability to handle confidential donor information with discretion and professionalism

The Community Specialist (CS) supports the VNA Connections, Volunteer, and Bereavement programs. Working under the guidance of each program leader, the CS provides administrative and program support, including client contact, event planning and coordination, and clerical assistance as needed.

The CS collaborates regularly with internal teams, initiates case conferences when appropriate, and delivers presentations to support program awareness. The role also assists with education and outreach within VNA and the broader community to promote understanding and effective use of VNA programs and may help train new hires on job responsibilities and processes.

Hourly Salary Range: $23.65 - $25.72

Status: Full-Time

  • 3 days per week: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • 2 days per week: 10:00am – 7:00pm
