VNA Offers On-Site Immunizations and Health Screenings to Community

vna hospice immunizationsMONTEREY, CA. (Aug. 12, 2019) — As the only travel health clinic in Monterey County, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) brings experienced, professional registered nurses to provide on-site flu and vaccine services to the community.

VNA provides comprehensive consultation and immunizations for International travelers. Health screenings and education are offered to corporate business, in the field or in the boardroom. And, nurses provide services to local schools to meet state mandated screenings, vaccines and staff education.

In addition, VNA offers walk-in clinics on Fridays. No appointment necessary.

Services available to Aspire HealthPlan members include:

  • Flu Vaccine – Quadrivalent Flu
  • Flu Vaccine – High Dose Flu
  • Pneumonia — Pneumovax 23
  • Pneumonia — Prevar 13
  • Shingrix
  • TB Skin Test (need for placement in facility)
  • Tdap-Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (every 10 years)

VNA provides intermittent care, covered primarily by insurance, through the expert skills of our trained and certified clinicians, to assist patients, families, and caregivers in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.  The home health division offers key specialty program, including cardiac, connections, diabetic, orthopedic, and palliative care.  These individual programs have advanced practice clinicians and program expertise.

VNA Hospice is specialized type of care for those facing a life-limiting illness, their families and their caregiver.  The care involves a team-oriented approach to expert medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support expressly tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes.  A key component to the team is VNA Volunteers who give their time to improve the lives of others. For the community, grief and loss support are offered to individuals or groups.

VNA Offering Walk-In Flu Clinics Every Friday October-December 2019 at Monterey Office

vna hospice immunizationsMONTEREY, CA. (Aug. 12, 2019) — The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA will be offering walk-in flu clinics every Friday in October, November and December at its Ryan Ranch offices in Monterey.

Professional, experienced registered nurses from the non-profit VNA will offer Quadrivalent, FluMist and High Dose flu immunizations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, October-December, 2019, at 5 Lower Ragsdale Drive, in Monterey. These walk-in clinics are open to adults and children 2 years and older. It will be closed on Friday, Nov. 29 and Friday, Dec. 27.

Cost is $35 for a quadrivalent flu shot (designed to protect against four different flu viruses; two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses) or nasal spray for ages 2-49. Medicare Part B will be billed for pneumonia and flu vaccines (high dose and standard).

Vaccines to protect against pneumonia, whooping cough and shingles are also available by appointment. If you’re traveling internationally, travel immunizations and consultation are available by appointment, please call 831-648-3777.

Dr. Steven Z. Nadereh Nasseri has been awarded Outstanding Woman

We are proud to announce that Nadereh Nasseri, RN, CHPN, Transitional Care Coordinator with VNA & Hospice has been nominated for the 2017 Outstanding Women Award, presented by the Monterey County Commission.

The Commission on the Status of Women in Monterey County honors women who have significantly improved the quality of life for others, and acknowledges the adversity they may have had to overcome to achieve this. Each year there are up to 10 nominees selected.  The successful nominee exhibits their  dedication to improve the quality of life for others in their community, that they are actively engaged in the service of their community and they must demonstrate a commitment to the improvement of their society, neighborhood, community, nation, and world.

Nadereh is being recognized for her work with VNA Hospice and Palliative Care over the last several years, in addition to her teaching quality of Thought-Language-Connection through her Progressive TLC group.  Progressive TLC, founded by Nadereh, provides classes and retreats to study highly evolved models of thinking and communicating.  These skills have proven to create qualitative improvements in participants personal lives, working environments and society at large.

The nominees will be recognized on Sunday, March 19th at the Outstanding Women of 2017 award ceremony starting at 2:00 p.m. being held at the Irvine Auditorium,  Middlebury Institute of International Studies, 499 Pierce Street, Monterey CA.
